New Update: Settings Panel for Windows

TASCAM USB Audio Interfaces Driver (Settings Panel) software for Windows has been updated to Version 4.00, enabling to build music production environments with ultra-low latency that maximizes the processing power of the computers in use. In this new version, the driver’s stability has been greatly enhanced, the audio buffer size is now selectable up from 4 samples instead of older versions with the default buffer size of 64 samples, and overall usability has been improved.

Vocal / Wind Instrument Recording with outstanding audio performance

The recording environment with low noise and great audio performance is an relevant factor for vocal and wind instrument recordings. The US-1x2 interfaces feature Ultra-HDDA microphone pre-amplifier with the EIN measurement of -127dBu. It is an ideal tool for recording your vocals and wind insturments with condenser microphones. Despite the lack of knowledge on recording equipment, its user-friendly design enables you to be able to use the unit on your recording right away.

Electric Guitar Recording in DAW through Hi-Z Direct Input

The US-1x2 interfaces also support direct inputs with high impedance for electric guitars and basses. By Directly connecting your guitar, you can sound like a actual guitar amp with your DAW plug-in effects. Before cranking effects to your gutiar recorded track, the quality of tone is the key. The US-1x2 interfaces ensure clarity to your track. In addition, external effector padels or any amp simulator can be used through direct input as well. *Plug-ins are sold separately.

A Great Music Composition Tool for Vocalist

As the US-1x2 is equipped with both condenser microphone input and a 1/4" line input, you can easily record from an acoustic guitar while singing using the line input. The US-1x2 allows you to record ideas for songs right away. When recording with the iPad DAW app, you can connect the unit to iPad device via Lightning connector and the camera adapter to enjoy the music creation. *Camera adapter is sold separately.

Small Mixing & Mastering Environment on Your Desktop

The quality of D/A conversion is important in the mixing and mastering stage after recording. Not only the mic input but also the audio curcuit with high audio performance allows you to record clear sounds. Separate volume controls for the headphone and line output are available, so you can easily adjust volume on your headphone(s) and monitor speakers separately.

Audio Playback and Archieve

The back of the device also contains an input signal level compatible RCA pin jack stereo input connector. This makes it possible to connect the US-1x2 to audio devices such as CD player, cassette player, turntables and other audio equipment. Audio buffer size selectable up from 4 samples

With conventional TASCAM drivers, the audio buffer size could only be set originally up from 64 samples. This has been enhanced to support a selection up from 4 samples, enabling users to build music production environments with ultra-low latency that maximizes the processing power of the computers in use. Users can now choose from a wide range of parameters, from a minimum of 4 samples up to a maximum of 2048 samples, depending on the computer's processing power and music production application.

Software window size optimization enabled by HiDPI support

The newly implemented HiDPI (high-dot per inch) function automatically optimizes the size of the Settings Panel window to an appropriate size according to the user's display. No more small appearing of the Settings Panel in a high-resolution display.

"Auto Driver Select" function enables/disables default device settings

Easily activate/deactivate US-series units set as the default IN/OUT audio device in a computer with the new Auto Driver Select function. Activating this function, the computer will always recognize the US unit as default and will allow saving some trouble in setting the device each time. Users can freely choose to disable this function to use different devices depending on the application.

Discrete Ultra-HDDA Mic Preamp Delivers Low Noise and Low Distortion

TASCAM's Ultra-HDDA (High Definition Discrete Architecture) mic preamp design is based on discrete components, just like classic professional gear. They achieve an incredible EIN rating of –125 dBu, meaning their noise level is practically below the range of hearing. Other impressive specs include a signal-to-noise ratio of 101 dB, out-speccing anything in its price range. But instead of judging the design merely by test measurements, key components were selected following extensive listening tests.

XLR and TRS Accept Balanced Mic and Line Level Signals

The mic input features a professional XLR connector, which supplies +48V phantom power for condenser microphones. Built from heavy duty metal throughout, the US-1x2 stays put even when moving mics around and changing connections.

The combo input jack includes TRS inputs for balanced line-level signals from professional processors and synthesizers. Finally, the two inputs can be switched to high-impedance for direct recording of electric guitar and bass. (Only the XLR or 1/4" input can be used, not both at the same time.)

Wide Gain Range Supports Dynamic and Ribbon Microphones

Non-powered mics like dynamic and ribbon designs can sound great, but they also have a lower output level than condenser microphones. The US-1x2's Ultra HDDA mic preamps not only feature 57dB of gain, but also a low-noise design so you don't crank up the noise at the same time. Use Apple's Camera Connection Kit to connect the US-1x2 to an iPad or other iOS device. FAQs

There are cases in which noise occurs every 4 seconds when playing a 44.1kHz/16-bit file in Windows Media Player (WMP).

We've verified this can occur on Windows 10/11 version 22H2 and after.

Please try the following methods to prevent this issue:
1: Exit and close other playback or recording applications before using WMP.
2: Do not open the recording, and other tabs in the Sound control panel while playing a file.
3: Try using the ASIO driver if you are using an ASIO-compatible application.

When playing files that are of different sampling frequencies from a computer or iOS device, the audio may not start playing, the beginning of the sound may be cut off, or noise/crashing may occur.

Your device's playback application/software, and playback file frequencies (sampling frequency) may not be matching. Set the frequencies of the playback file and each configuration to be the same, or unify the frequencies of the playback file.

When the computer or iOS device etc. goes into sleep mode, the interface USB LED may blink or turn off and not opertate properly when the external device recovers from sleep mode.

Depending on the usage environment, reboot the interface by turning the power off/on again, or disconnect and reconnect the USB cable.
